Greensborough Skatepark has a real uniqueness to it. It offers all the usual treats – rails, ledges, euros and quarters but in a quirky layout. As shown on Saturday, in heat 3 of the North Western Series, this weirdness leaves the advantage in the hands of those skate park users with the ability to think outside the square. The creative skaters and BMX’ers shine at Greensy park. Hitting up the nooks and crannies others may not have even noticed on first glance. Linking in lines a lot of competitors thought were not even possible.
The 16 and unders skate division was dominated by the creative minds of hesh king- Jack Duff and tech wizard- Lucas Calwell. Lucas edged out Jack for the win in the end. I am looking forward to see how these two rippers hit up the rest of the parks in the remaining series.
Jake McDonough killed it in the 12 and unders with style well beyond his years but was followed closely by two up and comers – Bailey Jackson and Luke Ascenzo. The leaderboard looks like it will be a tight battle to the end! Gnar lords Josh Hodge and Ash Cochrane continued their killing spree in the VSL comps by taking home first and second.
