The Australian Skateboard Racing Association(ASRA) has partnered up with
the Australian National Preventive Health Agency’s – Be the Influence campaign to bring you the
‘Be The Influence‘ National Boarder-X Shakedown Series.
4 events in 4 weeks starting in Circular Quay in Sydney than moving up to Merewether beach in Newcastle followed by Brisbane City and finally finishing in Melbourne.
Skaters must race against the clock over a series of ramps, berms, humps and jumps,
combining the best of ramp, street, and skateboard racing skills, to findout who is the clear winner. Forget about anyone currying favours with the judges…when the flag drops…the BS Stops!
This is boarder-X on the big scale, and is the kind of event that has never been done to this level in the world!
Over the next 6 months ASRA will be scouring the country for riders who think they have what it takes. Start practicing now, we want the best freeriders and racers in the country to show us what they’ve got. This is your chance to skate in front of thousands of people in a true battle that only the ‘Be The Influence‘ Boarder-X Shakedown Series can bring. This could be the most fun you ever have on a skateboard so get ready for the Shakedown!!!
This will make all those other street and bowl events look like figure skating!
Each year, Girls Skate Australia presents Australias only professional womens skateboarding event. The events have expanded exponentially over the last five years, each year attracting more competitors, a higher level of skill and more support from the wider community. 2013 will be no exception, with Australias Top Female Skateboarders travelling from all over the country to battle it out for over $3000 in cash prizes. Additionally, this year we’re also including an Open Males division to show some support for the lads who support us!
Public notice to inform paid VSA members that VSA Board of Directors will be conducting our Annual General Meeting at Riverslide Skatepark on thursday 21st March, commencing 6:o0pm. If paid members would like to provide comment or input into our Association’s direction or management structure please email info@skateboardingvictoria.org.au by March 20th so it can be formally tabled as part of the agenda.
Our aim is to foster, encourage and promote the sport of skateboarding throughout Victoria. The VSA achieves this by partnering with education providers, government, businesses and other organisations to provide opportunities for people to participate in skateboarding.
